Jacob Sullum looks at the problems with public health studies on gun control.  Hint, there might be a bit of bias coloring the result.  So when you hear that statistic constantly cited about how a gun in the home is oh so many more times likely to be used against the owner or their family than against a criminal, keep in mind it is a product of one of these studies and also disprovable and completely bogus.

Your typical leftist movie critic can't pass up taking a shot at Clarence Thomas in a Django Unchained review, comparing the "house negro" antagonist played by Sam Jackson with Justice Thomas.  How thoughtful.  Of course, this ignores Thomas' history of invoking black history and civil rights in justifying some of his opinions, something the movie reviewer is obviously completely ignorant of.  Damon Root at Reason has the details here.
